The Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists (IACP) is a premier organization formed with the aims and objectives of advancing the concepts of mental health and the advancement of profession of clinical psychology. The Indian Association of Clinical psychologists was formed in the year 1968 and registered under the societies registrations XXI for 1860 Reg. no. 3694

  1. The Indian Association of Clinical Psychology is a premier organization of the group of clinical psychologists consisting of not only all the professionals of clinical psychology but also professionals from other related fields.
    The members are classified into six major categories, namely Professional Members, Fellow Members, Associate members, Honorary members, Corresponding Members and Corporate members.
  2. Any individual who has completed M.Phil Medical and Social Psychology or the former Post Graduate Diploma courses in Medical and Social Psychology / Diploma in Medical Psychology of National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences Bangalore or Central Institute of Psychiatry Ranchi or M.Phil In Clinical Psychology from RCI Recognized Institute are eligible to Professional Membership.
  3. Any individual who has been a professional member of the association for a minimum period of two years with basic qualification as laid down in the requirements for professional membership shall be eligible for Fellowship provided that he is engaged in the whole time practice of clinical psychology or teaching or research in it and has paid the full subscription of life membership, the professional life members who have completed two years of service as said above can apply for fellowship with the evidences of full time practice of Clinical Psychology either in a clinical set-up, teaching or research.
  4. Apart from the people who have been trained in the field of clinical psychology and obtained the necessary qualifications people from other related fields can also become the members of our association but they can only become associate members, people with graduation in psychology, law, registered medical practitioners individuals with masters degree in anthropology , education, philosophy , social work, sociology or with any other equivalent or higher qualifications accepted by the executive committee of the association are eligible to become associated members of our association.
  5. Our association also provides honorary membership to distinguished Persons who have contributed to the advancement of clinical Psychology or the furtherance of aims and objectives of the associations
  6. We also offer corresponding membership to distinguished and eminent psychologists of other countries who are well known for their contribution to the field of clinical psychology.
  7. Apart of promoting mental health through various organizations we also offer corporate memberships to associations and societies which are registered in India as PER THE ACT XXI of 1860 and whose aims and objectives and the work areas are of common interest with the aims and objectives of the IACP. The scientific bodies working for advancement of clinical psychology in foreign countries are also eligible for corporate membership.

  2. Fellowship: Professional Life membership of the Association for a minimum period of two years.

  1. 3. Associate Membership: Graduation in Psychology/ Law/ Medicine/ Psychiatry or Post Graduation degree in any other Social Sciences or Humanities or Psychiatry.
